Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert

.....Sigh.

I really wanted to like this book. I really did. Maybe I was expecting too much. It wasn't a horrible book.....I mean this author was basically living out my lifelong dream of traveling the whole world over and meeting many fabulous and interesting people. Every other person that has read this book has really loved it, I mean really loved it.

I just don't have much else to say.

I hope that the Lord of the Flies has a better effect on me but it's not looking too promising since I took a break in the middle of Lord of the Flies to read Eat, Pray, Love.

Please save me from my reader's block!

Eat, Pray, Love is my next book...I hear it's great but after your post I'm not so sure. I love your "what I'm reading" section on your blog...I might steal the idea! Books rule!
P.S. Good luck with Lord of the Flies. That's on my list, but it's near the bottom. It will be a while before I get to it. Are you reading it for fun or for book club or some other reason?

Okay, Kandis. I know why you didn't love my favorite book of 2007. You are too young to get it yet. I don't know how old you have to be to appreciate all of her soul struggling to figure out her place in the universe...but I love, love LOVED it. Probably because the last few years I've been trying to figure my place out, too. Did you at least love the passage I dog eared for you? See, if you haven't struggled to stop unhealthy thought patterns, you might not appreciate her profound discovery that thoughts are like ships...Hmmm.

PS Ditch Lord of the Flies. Take on Secret Life of Bees. You will really like that one. I think. Wait a minute. You didn't like Persuasion either. Hmmm. Maybe you will hate all of the books on my favorites list...Tell us all a book you did love and I'll make a recommendation based on that.

Whether you liked the book or not I'm proud of how diverse the books are you are reading and your desire to try out new ones. I'm sorry for all the times I grounded you from reading and made you do something else. I love how you love to read and learn.

Haven't read this book yet...but probably will since it was a sweet gift. You should read The Poison Wood Bible...I think you would like it.

Hey Tandis Builla!!:) I had read your post about this book way back when you first posted but didn't pay much attention. Had to come back to remember what you said because I won the book at Bonko the other night! I am curious to see if I will feel like you or AD about it, I will let you know! You must go see Vantage Point, it was great! I hope you can trust my judgement after "FOOL'S GOLD" but I still liked that one. I guess I was blinded by my love, er, lust for Matthew Mc...
